Derek Normore, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Normore joined Saxon in March, 2013. Mr. Normore comes to Saxon with over 32 years of global business experience in the drilling industry. Prior to joining Saxon, Mr. Normore served as President of Pathfinder, A Schlumberger Company, as North America Smith Acquisition Integration Manager, and as President of Schlumberger Canada Ltd.
James (Jim) McKee, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. McKee joined Saxon in February, 2010 and brings with him over 25 years in the investment banking, oilfield services and public sector service. Prior to joining Saxon, Mr. McKee held the position of Managing Director and head of Investment Banking for RBC Dominion Securities, specializing in the Canadian Oil Services and Small Cap E&P Groups, based out of Calgary. In addition to his investment banking experience, Mr. McKee spent over 14 years at KPMG and was an International Tax Partner before joining Nowsco Well Service, a public company engaged in international pressure pumping services, as Treasurer and Tax Director. Jim is a graduate of the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Accountant.
Eric Neme, Senior Vice President - Operations

Mr. Neme joined Saxon in January, 2012. Mr. Neme comes to Saxon with over 30 years of experience in the international drilling industry, holding operational and business development management positions in diverse locations including Nigeria, Western Europe, USA and Central America.
Tim Braun, Senior Vice President - Engineering and Technical Support

Mr. Braun joined Saxon in October, 2005 as Vice President Operations and has close to 30 years of drilling experience. Prior to joining Saxon, Mr. Braun held the position of Vice President, Western Hemisphere for Precision Drilling International, where he worked closely with Mark Helmer in growing that company’s international rig fleet. Tim has a broad range of experience, both domestic and international, including a strong background in the development of specialty drilling equipment.
Dennis Luce, Vice President - Human Resources

Mr. Luce joined Saxon in July 2011 as Human Resources Manager, US Region. He was promoted to VP HR in January 2012. Mr. Luce has over 30 years experience in the oil and gas service industry in drilling and marine construction. Mr. Luce began his career as HR Manager with the offshore division of Pool Energy Services (now Nabors), with over 30 rigs and 2000 employees. Mr. Luce has experience in a variety of international locations in the US, Latin America, the Middle East, and West Africa. Mr. Luce has been a strategic business partner in the growth of several companies from small regional organization to successful multinational, global entities. Mr. Luce has broad experience in HR including organizational design and development, compensation and benefits, talent and performance management, recruitment and staffing, and training and leadership development.
Aly Musani, Vice President - Finance

Mr. Musani joined Saxon on May 3, 2010. He has held progressively senior positions in the accounting and finance area, including 11 years in the oil and gas, and oilfield services sectors. Mr. Musani came to us from Enseco Energy Services Corporation, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Musani is a graduate of the University of Calgary. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant.
James (Jim) Thorn, Vice President - Business Development

Mr. Thorn joined Saxon on November 1, 2010 and is based in Dubai, UAE. Mr. Thorn comes to us from Weatherford International where he had held the position of Global Commercial Marketing Director since 2006. Previous to this role, Jim held progressively senior operational roles with Sedco Forex and Schlumberger, including assignments as a Project Manager, Sales Engineer, Staff Engineer and Rig Manager. Mr. Thorn is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde (UK) and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Lee Turner, Vice President - Quality, Health, Safety & Environment

Mr. Turner joined Saxon in July 2011 with over 35 years of experience in the oilfield services industry. Prior to joining Saxon, Mr. Turner was the Senior Vice President QHSE at Smith International and M-I SWACO from January 2005 to August 2010. Prior to that, Mr. Turner spent a year as VP-HSE with Yukos EP in Moscow, twenty years with Sedco Forex and the IPM division of Schlumberger, and eight years with Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Co. in various line management and staff roles in nine countries. Lee has a BSc in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from Harvard.
Mike Murphy, Vice President - Information Technology

Mr. Murphy joind Saxon in October 2010. Mr. Murphy comes to us from Weatherford International where he had held the position of Regional IT Director since 2008. While at Weatherford, Mike worked in various locations in North America, Central America, South America and Asia on a diverse range of large scale IT projects involving both business systems and infrastructure. In addition to his seventeen (17) years of IT experience, Mr. Murphy also brings over thirteen (13) years of hands-on oilfield operations experience.
Christian Beuzeville, Regional Director – Central America

Mr. Beuzeville joined Saxon in November, 2008. He graduated from ECAM - ARTS ET METIERS engineering school in Lyon in 1974. After graduation he spent 15 months in the French Navy. Subsequent to his military service, he joined Forex Neptune, a drilling contractor, in January 1976. He spent his first four years in Algeria and Libya in various developmental roles. Subsequently he assumed more senior roles including Country Manager for Guatemala, and senior positions for onshore and offshore operations in Gabon, Congo and Angola. After a short period away from the drilling industry, Mr. Beuzeville returned to Sedco Forex in Algeria in 1997. After that assignment, he was assigned as Country Manager in Venezuela where he remained for 9 years before joining Saxon in his current capacity of Regional Director – Central America.
Boris Cura , Vice President - South America

Mr. Cura joined Saxon in August, 2009 bringing with him over 14 years experience in the oilfield services industry. Mr. Cura graduated from Ohio University in 1991 with a Masters in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Upon graduation he joined Oceaneering Space Systems where he worked closely with NASA in designing robotic compatibility tests for the space station. Mr. Cura joined OSCA Inc (Houston) in 1996, where he began his career in the oilfield services sector. Mr. Cura achieved positions of increasing responsibility with OSCA and then subsequently with Specialized Petroleum Services Inc. Mr. Cura’s most recent position was with Key Energy Services as Vice President –International Western Hemisphere, where he had management responsibility for 65 land drilling and work-over rigs throughout the region.
James (Jim) Tolsma - Regional Director - North America

Mr. Tolsma has 26 years of leadership and management experience. After serving five (5) years in the U.S. Army, Mr. Tolsma began a career in the oilfield services industry, starting at Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Company. He has served in various capacities both internationally and domestically for both public and private companies. Mr. Tolsma joined Saxon as Operations Manager for North America in April 2010 and was promoted to Country Manager for the US in December 2010. Mr. Tolsma earned a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1985 and a MBA from Texas A&M University in 2005.
Shaun Thomas Anderson, Director - Supply Chain Management

Mr. Anderson joined Saxon in November, and brings with him 15 years of experience with a background in strategic sourcing, contract management, demand planning, production control, and customer service. Mr. Anderson has a MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and began his career with Teradyne Inc., a leading manufacturer of Automated Test Equipment and interconnection systems for the Semiconductor Industry. After nine (9) years he moved to Emerson Electric, a manufacturer of fiscal flow products, services and systems for the oil and gas industry. Before moving to Saxon Mr. Anderson was in a senior management position with National Oilwell Varco Rig Solutions.
Harold Zimmer, Director - Taxation

Mr. Zimmer joined Saxon in February 2011, bringing a wealth of both domestic and international tax expertise to Saxon. With over 37 years of tax experience, Harold also has a strong understanding of the drilling industry from his 10 years as Director of Tax at Precision Drilling. Most recently, Harold was the Director of Corporate Tax at TransAlta Utilities. Harold’s international tax knowledge and hands-on experience will be an important skill set as Saxon grows on a global basis. Mr. Zimmer is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan.
Daniel Marcano, Country Manager - Australia

Mr. Marcano joined Saxon in May 2011, and brings with him over 15 years experience in the oilfield services industry. Mr. Marcano received his Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Simon Bolivar (Venezuela) in 1995. Upon graduation, he joined Sedco Forex (then part of Schlumberger) as a Trainee Engineer based in Brazil. Mr. Marcano completed the Technical Development Program and progressed through a variety of positions of increasing responsibility. His most recent role was that of IPM Rig Management Regional Manager for South America, based in Caracas, Venezuela. In this role Daniel’s primary responsibilities included the management of the Lake and Land Drilling assets of Schlumberger in Venezuela, and supporting the Rig needs of the IPM projects in South America, where he liaised with Saxon Energy Services personnel on a regular basis.
